This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Traditional Chinese original, the Chinese version prevails.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to every website, app, free tool and API service operated by Throk (“we”), together the “Service”, including www.throk.ai, app.throk.ai, docs.throk.ai and developer.throk.ai. By using the Service, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Account information: your email address, name and profile picture when you sign in with Google or sign up with an email magic link
- The Threads usernames and keywords you track, compare or look up in the Service
- The questions, conversations and automated task settings you give our AI features, and any images or files you upload
- Information you send us through support chat, contact forms, email, the newsletter or a waitlist
- If you connect your Threads account, the account data you authorize us to access (see Section 4)
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data, feature interactions and browsing activity
- Device and browser information (such as device type, operating system and language settings)
- Your approximate country or region, inferred from your IP address, which we use to set the interface language and the post languages available to you, and to prevent abuse
- Information collected by cookies and similar technologies; see our Cookie Policy
Payment information: Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We never store your full card number; we keep only the records we need, such as your subscription status, plan, credits and billing summaries.
3. Public Threads Data
The Service’s core features (including trending boards, trends, ladders, account analytics and free tools) are built on publicly available data from the Threads platform: public post content, public profile information (username, profile picture, follower count and so on) and public engagement metrics. This data may relate to Threads users who have not signed up for the Service.
- We only process publicly available data. We do not access private accounts or non-public content
- Data reflects its state when it was public on the source platform and may differ from its current state
- We may automatically tag public posts and accounts by language, topic or category, and build vector indexes for semantic search
- Anyone, whether or not they use the Service, can ask us to remove data about them as described in Section 14
4. Connecting Your Threads Account
If you choose to connect your Threads account to the Service through Meta’s official authorization flow, we access and use data through the Threads API only within the permissions you grant:
- This may include your basic account information (username, profile picture, bio), your posts and replies, post and account insights (such as views, engagement and follower data), and any other permissions you approve on the authorization screen
- We use this data only to provide the features you use, including publishing on your behalf when you tell us to. We never publish anything for you without your instruction
- Access tokens are stored encrypted and refreshed periodically
- We do not sell data obtained through the Threads API, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes
- You can disconnect at any time in the Service’s settings, or remove Throk’s access in your Threads or Instagram app settings. When Meta notifies us that you have removed access or requested deletion, we delete the related tokens and, within a reasonable period, the non-public data obtained through the connection
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain and improve the Service (including free tools)

6. AI Data Processing
Our AI features (including some free tools) send your queries, the text you paste and related content to third-party AI model and service providers for processing. We send only what is needed to generate a response, and each provider handles that data under its own privacy policy and terms. Please do not include sensitive personal information in AI queries.
We keep your AI conversation history so you can review and continue your conversations. If you use AI memory, the AI saves the information you agree to or ask it to remember, and you can view, edit or delete it in settings.
7. Analytics, Advertising and Tracking
We use third-party analytics, advertising and security tools to improve the Service, measure our marketing and prevent abuse, including Google Analytics, Google Ads and product analytics tools. Some free tool pages show ads through Google AdSense; Google and its partners may use cookies to show personalized ads based on your browsing.
The data these tools collect is generally anonymous or pseudonymous, such as page views, click events and device information. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
8. Email
We send email related to the Service, including sign-in links, onboarding, product updates and service notices (such as billing confirmations). Emails may contain tracking pixels that measure open and click rates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email; service notices are not affected.
9. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the Service, with third-party providers who help us run it, including:
- Authentication services
- Payment processing and subscription management services
- AI model and related services
- Email and communication services
- Analytics and advertising services
- Cloud hosting, database, network and security services

These providers may only process your information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information:

- To enforce our Terms of Service, detect fraud, or protect the rights and safety of Throk and our users
- To a successor in a merger, acquisition or asset transfer (we will require the successor to keep honoring this policy)
10. International Data Transfers
Our servers and service providers are located in several jurisdictions. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to, processed and stored outside the region where you live. We take reasonable measures to protect your information in transit and at rest.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
- We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in your account settings, or email us to ask us to delete it
- AI conversation history and AI memory are kept for as long as your account exists, and you can delete them yourself; temporary data created while the AI runs is cleared periodically
- After you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our systems within a reasonable period; copies in backups are cleared when the backup cycle ends
- Information we must keep to meet legal obligations (such as billing and tax records) is kept until the relevant statutory period ends
- Public Threads data is kept for as long as we need it to provide our analytics services
12. Data Security
We use appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage of sensitive credentials (such as Threads access tokens) and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
14. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, and to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. You can delete your account yourself in your account settings, or email us to exercise these rights.
If you are not a user of the Service and believe that public data we process relates to you, you can email team@throk.ai with a question or a removal request, and we will handle it within a reasonable time.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under applicable law (including Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation). You can exercise them in the same way.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time without affecting your use of the Service. You can opt out of tracking technologies through your browser settings or third-party tools; see our Cookie Policy.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will change the “Last updated” date on this page when we do. If we make material changes, we will let you know by email or in the app. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated policy.
